We are seeking a seasonal full-time Assistant Pool Manager who will support daily operations of a safe, clean, and welcoming club swimming facility while assisting in the supervision of aquatics staff and programming. The Assistant Pool Manager plays a key role in ensuring a high standard of safety, service, and member satisfaction, while supporting the Pool Manager in all aspects of aquatics operations.
Pay: $20.00 per hour – Seasonal, full-time, must be available for morning, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the Pool Manager in the daily operation of the aquatic facility, ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for members and guests.
- Must obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license within 30 days of hire if it is not already obtained.
- Assist in supervising, training, and providing ongoing support to lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatics staff.
- Reinforce that safety is the top priority for all aquatics employees and help implement pool safety programs and ongoing staff training.
- Promote a culture of hospitality and ensure a high level of member and guest service at all times.
- Assist with staff scheduling, rotations, and shift coverage to ensure proper pool supervision.
- Help with onboarding and orientation of new aquatics staff, including uniform and policy guidance.
- Monitor staff performance and assist with documentation such as incident reports, performance feedback, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Maintain strong, professional communication with members, including addressing questions, concerns, and general pool-related inquiries.
- Assist in coordinating swim lessons, programs, and special aquatic events to meet the needs of the membership.
- Support communication efforts related to aquatics programming, including lesson schedules and event details.
- Maintain accurate records of pool attendance, guest usage, incidents, and staff schedules.
- Assist in monitoring payroll/timekeeping systems to ensure accurate staff hours.
- Help oversee pool supplies and notify management of inventory needs.
- Work in conjunction with the Facilities Manager to help maintain proper pool chemistry and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Assist with swim team coordination and events as needed.
- Support the planning and execution of pool events, holidays, and member activities.
- Act as a visible and approachable presence at the pool, ensuring a positive and professional environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, and First Aid required.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
