The Seasonal Swim Lesson Instructor provides safe, engaging, and high-quality swim instruction to members and their children and family in a private country club setting. This role focuses on building water confidence, developing proper swimming techniques, and promoting water safety in a positive and supportive environment. The instructor plays an important role in delivering an exceptional member experience while upholding the Club’s safety and service standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide private and/or group swim instruction for children and adults of varying skill levels.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans focused on water safety, stroke development, and skill progression.
- Create a fun, encouraging, and safe learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and goals.
- Ensure safety standards and pool rules are followed at all times.
- Collaborate with aquatics leadership and staff to support programming and pool operations.
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness for all scheduled lessons.
- Represent the Club in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong swimming ability and understanding of stroke mechanics and water safety.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with children and families.
- Patient, positive, and engaging teaching style.
- Strong commitment to safety and member service.
- Prior swim instruction or lifeguarding experience preferred.
- Lifeguard certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification preferred but not required.
